I have trusted Heartprints Center for Early Education with my child’s pre-school experience from the time she was eligible to enroll until the time she was ready to begin Kindergarten. My wife and I chose Heartprints for a number of reasons. Upon meeting the directors of the school (Ellen and Grace), we immediately felt that this was a warm and welcoming setting for our child. After further investigation, we realized that this was not just a place that would watch our child while we went to work. This was a true “center for early education”. Learning through play was evident on a daily basis and “Kindertarten Readiness” was not just our goal, it was theirs as well.
One of the biggest differences we found between Heartprints and the other pre-schools we investigated was the education and professionalism of the staff and teachers. It seems like everybody on the staff has a master’s degree or at least 10 years of experience in early childhood education. There were no “babysitters” or part-time/seasonal people watching my child. The teachers are diverse and caring. I felt comfortable from day one that our daughter was getting a top notch early-education.
As it turns out, when our daughter started kindergarten, she was more than prepared for what was expected by our school district (North Allegheny). She was clearly entering kindergarten at a higher level than the rest of the children in her class. I attribute this to our daughter’s time at Heartprints.
I cannot express how happy I am with the quality of this school. The only complaint I have is that I wish they would open their doors to younger children. Waiting until they turn 3 is just too long to wait for this wonderful institution.
