I am a regular at Steel City and wanted to share how much I enjoy it. This is a place that makes you feel welcome, tries to make it a great experience every time, and truly values its customers. Is everything always perfect? Of course not, but as a business that is just going into their 'sophomore' year, I think they are doing quite well indeed! If you've had a less than stellar time there, give them another chance, you'll be glad you did.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch for the first time today. We will NOT be going back! Our waitress was very nice & helpful in making recommendations when we told her it was our first time dining with them. I ordered the chili burger at her rec & my husband got the super club. While waiting for our food, we smelled something burning & joked that we hoped it wasn't our food...it was! Our chips & fries that came with our sandwiches were brought out 5 min before the sandwiches & my fries were lukewarm at best. When we got our food, my burger was well done and bone dry (I had ordered it med well at the waitresses rec & figured it would be ok since it was a steakhouse & they should know how to cook a burger!). Every piece of bread on my husband's sandwich was burned. We called the waitress over and let her know what was wrong. She took my burger back and told the cook to redo it. I then heard him yell at her and say, "How can it be dry with all that chili on it?!?!" When she came back out I told her to cancel the order cause I heard the cook yelling and didn't trust what he might do to my food. I told her to just take it off the bill. We then asked to speak with the manager. He came over & didn't seem very pleased. We told him about my over done burger, cold fries & husbands burned bread. He didn't say anything, no apology or anything, and took our plates back to the kitchen. Whether he was mad at us for complaining or mad at the cook for sending out bad food, I couldn't tell you. We heard the cook yell at the manager, "What?! It was only burned around the edges!!!" Now, its not like it was super busy. We were the only people there for a good 20 min before another couple came in. The woman that came in after us sent her food back to be warmed in the microwave because it was cold!!! They did comp our entire meal and I have to say the waitress was mortified at our horrible experience. However, having a good waitress isn't enough to get me to go back there again! Other reviews on other sites have similar stories to ours however there were a few good reviews out there. I think the people who had a good experience were very lucky to be honest! I don't think this place should be calling themselves a steakhouse when they can't even cook a burger properly!!! Eat here at your own risk!

Myself and 3 other outoftowners were on our way to a Pirate game. We stopped at Steel City Steaks for a pump primer before continuing on downtown to the game. Was I impressed !! If you have never been there, and if you appreciate a clean establishment with detail and history, I encourage you to stop in, and have a cold one or so,...and take a look around. I assure you, you will be satisfied. As I did just that.... the propriator came out and introduced himself, sat down beside me, and chatted for about an hour or so. I'm sure he had things to do, but I was pleased he spent the time he did with me and my 3 sidekicks. He introduced us all to his hired help, they all were very pleasant, very clean and neat in appearance, and I was made to feel very welcome. It's an hour drive for me to Pittsburgh, but when I return, I plan to revisit Steel City Steakhouse, and treat who ever my guests are, to the best atmosphere I have experienced in quite some time. Next time I'll have myself a meal.

We can only speak for Wing Night (Tuesday's) but have been very pleased with the food and the service. Our waitress is usually Alicia, and she honestly could not be any nicer. Very prompt and friendly!! The wings are awesome - cooked perfectly and very well priced! The beer choices vary - sometimes they're out of certain beers - but the waitress is always up front and can tell us what is available... and the beer is always delicious! :) We make it a point to go there on Tuesdays but have heard good reviews for other food items/days of the week. Have recommended Steel City to many people and will continue to do so! :)

The steel City Steak house is shooting them selves in the foot !! You never know what they're going to bring out of the kitchen . If they run out of certain things they just throw anything at you , and don't say a thing about it .. Sometimes it's great , But Sunday evening was it !! Five of us went there to eat steak and drink . Sarah was a nice enough server , but after one beer they ran out I ask for another and that was out as well , then she said we wouldn't like the steaks so my wife and I oder cheese burgers and ice water , When the burgers came out they were on half a hoagie bun . It was like eating a burger on a hotdog bun a mess !!! The server was as upset as we were and sort of blew us of after we started complaining . We well not be back anytime soon .. WHAT A SHAME !!!!!!

I was eager to try out SCSH since it recently opened. Let me start by saying that my food (filet, potato, salad) was good; my husband did NOT enjoy his chicken romano. Regardless of how good the food was, we would not be returning under any circumstances. We were seated at 6:30, our order taken at 7:00, and our food arrived at about 7:50 - 1 hour, 20 minutes after we arrived! My 7 yo was literally CRYING because he was so hungry and tired of sitting there. Our waitress never apologized for - or even acknowledged - our wait, or came back to ask if the food was OK or we needed anything, & was generally cold and didn't seem to care. The tables are JAMMED together - it was difficult & awkward to squeeze by other diners to get to the bathroom. There were only 2 servers, and a table seated after us was served, and left, before us. Also contributing to the wait, the food only comes out 2 items at a time, b/c the servers don't use trays - bring 1 item per hand, then return to the kitchen for more. EPIC fail.
